Funeral services for Aleta Bernice (Smith) Howard, 78 were held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 13 at the United Pentecostal Church in Wagoner. Her grandson, the Reverend Micah Wisdom officiated. Aleta was born December 5, 1930 in Cleveland, Oklahoma to her parents, Samuel Martin and Amy Rose (Eldridge) Smith. She worked in nursing homes as a Nursing Assistant for 25 years before her retirement. Aleta enjoyed sharing the flowers and vegetables which she raised in her yearly gardens with family and friends. She was a loving mother and grandmother to her family, who will greatly miss her. Surrounded by her family, she went to be with the Lord Saturday, May 9, at her family's home near Coweta. Aleta was preceded in death by her parents; all 11 of her siblings and by her husband, Carroll Briton Howard. She is survived by her children, Delilah (Howard) Boggs of Broken Arrow, David (Sam) Howard, Marilyn (Howard) Wisdom and Rodney Howard all of Porter; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; other relatives and friends. Serving as pallbearers were David (Sam) Howard, Rod Howard, Randy Wisdom, Wayne Boggs, Micah Wisdom and Dustin Wisdom. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery in Porter, OK
