Alice Marie Butler was born September 23, 1936 in Pryor, OK to Leonard Valvin McLaughlin and Letha (Willyard) McLaughlin. She graduated from Bixby High School. On May 22, 1955 she married Robert Arthur Butler, and they began building their life together. They made their home in Bixby and Broken Arrow before settling in Chouteau, OK.

Alice was employed in the insurance industry before retirement. In her spare time she liked to sew, quilt and crochet. Her family recalls she was a great cook, although she preferred to do the cleaning up.

Alice was generous with her time. She was a foster parent. She served many hours as a Temple Ordinance worker as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints.

Alice died Friday, February 21, 2020 at her home in Chouteau, OK at the age of 83 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and eight siblings, Marvin, Willie, Lena, Pauline, Wayne, Raymond, Frank and Dean.

She will be greatly missed by all her knew her. Her survivors include her husband of 64 years, Robert Arthur Butler of Chouteau, OK; three children, Shirley Butler of Chouteau, OK, Patty Barnett and her husband, Jerry of Wagoner, OK and Curtis Butler and his wife, Trenia of Wagoner, OK; grandchildren, Amanda Butler, Celinda Butler, Cris Rodgers, Ashley Bartholomew, Aaron Butler and Jarrel Jackson; great-grandchildren, Cole Rodgers, Julianna Rodgers, Hallie Jackson, Cecilee Jackson, Kacen Butler, Presley Butler, Lily Rush, Wyatt Rush, Ashton Bartholomew, Trey Bartholomew and Jax Little; three sisters, Gladys Osborn, Frances Tollette and husband, Bub and Juanita McMurriam; one brother, Jerry Young; extended family and friends.

A Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 pm Wednesday, February 26, 2020 for family and friends.

The Service will be at 11:00 am Thursday, February 27, 2020 in the Chapel at Mallett Funeral Home, 417 East Cherokee Street, Wagoner, OK.

Interment will be in Pioneer Cemetery in Wagoner. Pallbearers will be Cris Rodgers, Aaron Butler, Ashton Bartholomew, Trey Bartholomew, Jax Little and Kacen Butler.
