Obituary

Alison Marie (Riehl) Ferguson was born November 20, 1959, in Flushing, New York, to Theodore L. and Beverly G. (Schramm) Riehl Jr. She was a lifelong Oklahoma resident, attending East Central High School and spending much of her life in the Tulsa area.

She and her husband, Michael D. Ferguson, made their home together in Wagoner for more than 15 years, where they both worked at Lakeside Medical. Alison was a member of First Christian Church of Wagoner, a community that brought her much fellowship, comfort, and joy.

Alison was known for her sly sense of humor, her wit, and her appreciation of stories, whether told, heard, read, or watched. She particularly enjoyed science fiction books and TV shows, and for many years the license plate of her car read "STARG8R." She had a great affection for animals, and always had a cat, a Boxer pup, or a Boston terrier at her side. According to her husband, Mike, Alison was "crazy about fishing" and a huge fan of Wagoner High School Bulldog football. She was also an enthusiastic weather watcher and a vicarious storm chaser, avidly following news of the big storms around the Central Plains each spring.

She loved her family and her church very much, and she was equally loved.

Alison departed this life Tuesday evening, November 17, 2020, at her home near Whitehorn Cove, with Mike at her side. She was preceded in death by her mother, Beverly; her father-in-law, Roy C. Ferguson; brothers-in-law Roy Ferguson Jr. and James Dow Ferguson; and a great-nephew, Marcus Hampton.

Survivors include her husband, Mike Ferguson; four children, Ryan Riehl, Andrea Waller Lagaly, Kristin Waller, and Steven Ferguson; many beloved grandchildren; her father, Ted; mothers-in-law Donna Ferguson and Pat Mitchell; her sisters and brother, Valerie Bailey, Melanie Ellis, David Riehl, and Heather Jewart; numerous nieces and nephews; and myriad extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, December 5, 2020, at First Christian Church of Wagoner. The Reverend Will Smith will officiate. If you would like to attend the service remotely, please register for the Zoom livestream by Friday morning at https://bit.ly/ AlisonFergusonCOL .
