Altha Emnell Carlton was born June 11, 1933 in Lake City, Arkansas. After attending school in Arkansas she was married to Glen M. Carlton on July 1, 1950. They made their home in Illinois for 40 years and just recently moved to Wagoner. Altha was an active long time member of the Church of Christ and taught Sunday school for a number of years. She was dedicated to raising her family and enjoyed being a homemaker. Her hobbies included quilting, crocheting and canning. Altha departed this life on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 in Wagoner, OK at the age of 77 years, 4 months and 29 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Lueiza (Ingram) Coleman, and siblings, Jim, Floyd, Bose and Inez. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Glen M. Carlton of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Allen and Glenna Carlton of Mansfield, TX, Dennis and Patricia Carlton of Homewood, IL, and Ronald and Debra Carlton of Wagoner; a sister, Paulette Knuchles of Mountain Home, AR; her grandchildren, Anna, Chris, Laura, Kyle, Emily, Jamie, Cammie, Chad and Kayla, numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, November 12, 2010 at the Mallett Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner. Mr. Wendell Tennison and Mr. Vernon Gruver will officiate. Pallbearers will be Chris Herd, Mike Curry, Tom Bradley, Doug Grammer, Michael Grammer and Matt Grammer. Interment will be in Pioneer Cemetery in Wagoner.
