IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Anthony "Tony"
Leo Mccoy
October 26, 1933 – October 5, 2021
Anthony Leo "Tony" McCoy was born October 26, 1933 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Thomas Leo and Jo-Helen (Short) McCoy. Following graduation from Wagoner High School Tony attended OSU A&M.
Tony and Betty were high school sweethearts and would have celebrated their 70 class reunion next May. They were married at Holy Cross Catholic Church in 1953 and remained a part of that congregation throughout their life together. The couple were blessed with four daughters, Tona, Tana, Tena and Trena.
Tony worked hard at farming, working cattle and baling hay, as well as in his plumbing business. Although he worked hard, Tony enjoyed his family time greatly. He was an only child, and he loved spending time with Betty's large family, the Halls, especially while playing cards with his brothers-in-law. He and Betty were active members of the square dance club. Later on they enjoyed more than ten years travelling and camping in their RV.
Tony departed this life Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Bellarose Senior Living in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 87 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Leo and Jo-Helen McCoy; a son-in-law, Mike Jones, an infant sister; and a number of brothers–in-law and sisters-in-law.
Left to cherish many beloved memories of Tony are his family: wife of 68 years, Betty McCoy of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Tona and Mike Henson of Houston, Texas, Tana and Tommy Lawson of Wagoner, Oklahoma, Tena and Ken Wilkey of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Trena Jones of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; grandchildren and spouses, Amy and Eric Pace, MacMichael and John Henson; Bryan Carr, Brandon and Kassy Carr, Brock and Jessica Carr, Amber and Davin Halford, Michael and Lauren Lawson, Zachary and Nikki Wilkey, Adam and Emily Wilkey, Joshua Wilkey, Bryan and Twyala Wilkey, Marty and Cyriece Jones and Michelle Jones; fifteen great-grandchildren with one on the way; one great great-grandchild; numerous extended family, including lots of nieces and nephews and many friends.
Viewing will be Friday from 2 – 7 pm in the Chapel at Mallett Funeral Home. The Rosary will follow at 7 pm.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 am Saturday at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Wagoner, Oklahoma. Officiating will be the Reverend Father Leo Ahanotu and Deacon Dick Berberet.
Tony's grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
