Obituary

Anthony Russell "Tony" Lowe was born April 9, 1958 in Oklahoma City, OK to Dave Anthony Lowe and Sharon Nell (Johnson) George. He grew up in Oklahoma City, where he met the love of his life, Sheri Dawn Chandler, whom he married on February 14, 1978. They were blessed with one daughter, Chana.

Tony, Sheri and Chana moved to Wagoner about 1987 when Unarco moved from Oklahoma City. They already had some family here, so the move was a natural one, and Tony settled in right away to make Wagoner his new home town. He had a huge interest in the betterment of Wagoner and served as member and then Chairman of the Wagoner Economic Development Association (WEDA). He went above and beyond to work hard on making Wagoner greater, always on the lookout for new economic opportunities and staying connected with the city government. His supportive presence was always welcomed at City Council meetings.

Tony was a thirty year member of the Masonic Lodge. He was very active in Wagoner Lodge #98 where he was Past Worshipful Master, Past Treasurer, currently the Secretary, and a vital member of the Degree Team.

Tony's family will cherish the memory of his dedication to being a great husband, father and grandfather. Tony's grandchildren were his life. He loved to take them hunting and antique shopping with him. His life, full of helping people and being the one to always count on, will be good example for them as they continue through life.

Tony loved riding motorcycles, especially Harleys. He collected fine, very old bottles, and enjoyed a round of golf. He was a gifted guitar player.

Tony departed this life unexpectedly on Monday, January 15, 2024 at the age of 65 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Dave Anthony Lowe; his mother and stepfather, Sharon Nell (Johnson) and Marvin George; sister, Mary-Kathryn Vickery; and a brother, Tim George.

Tony's loving family who survive him include his wife of forty-five years, Sheri Lowe of the home; his daughter and son-in-law, Chana and John Noble of Broken Arrow, OK; grandchildren, Elijah, Esselen, and Johnny; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and John Anderson of Wagoner, OK and Robin and Leon Kennedy of Oklahoma City, OK; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
