Bertha Mae Gravitt was born March 4, 1928 in Cowlington, Leflore County, Oklahoma to Roberta Marie (Barnett) and Harold Reed Stewart. She moved with her family to Wagoner, Oklahoma at an early age and graduated from Wagoner High School before attending business school in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Bertha married Gerald D. Gravitt on December 24, 1947. They shared a life together until his passing in 2003. Before retirement Bertha was a cafeteria manager for Tulsa Public Schools for many years.

Bertha made many beautiful quilts, and she saw that everyone in the family was gifted with their own quilt. She enjoyed antiquing and collecting glassware.

Bertha departed this life early Thursday, August 18, 2022 at the age of 94 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Gravitt; her parents, Harold and Marie Stewart; daughter, Bonnie Gilroy; two brothers, Polie Barnett and Billy George Stewart and infant twins siblings, Bobby Joe and Betty Ann Stewart.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry Lee and Barbara Gravitt of Wagoner, Oklahoma; three great-granddaughters, Jessica, Cassandra and Andrea; three great great-grandsons and one great great-granddaughter; other extended family and friends.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 pm Monday, August 22, 2022 in Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner, Oklahoma. The Reverend Wade Robertson will officiate.
