Obituary

Helen "Beth" (White) Bass, 54, of Wagoner, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Wagoner Community Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Beth was born on July 17, 1971, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to James Ralph White and Carol Ann (Nichols) White. A proud graduate of Muskogee Public Schools, she was a member of the Class of 1989. With a heart for service and natural compassion for others, Beth went on to become a certified medical assistant, dedicating her career to caring for those in need with both skill and kindness.

In 1989, Beth met the love of her life, Mel Bass. What began as a deep friendship blossomed over time, and on September 19, 2010, they were united in marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Beth was a woman of faith and quiet strength. She found joy in attending ladies' Bible studies, immersing herself in crime drama novels, and watching her favorite television shows. Among her greatest pleasures were the vacations she took with Mel to Mexico, where she delighted in the warm sun, the soothing waves, and the simple peace of the beach.

She held a special place in her heart for her extended family, especially her young cousins, nieces, and nephews. Her beloved dog, Kit, was never far from her side and brought her countless moments of joy and companionship.

Beth is preceded in death by her son, Austyn White; her paternal grandparents, Leo and Margaret White; her maternal grandmother, Helen Burtchell; and her aunt, Annette White.

Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband, Mel Bass of Wagoner, OK; her parents, Jim and Carol White of Wagoner, OK; her sister, Jaime Smith and husband Brad of Ada, OK; her sister-in-law, Shelly Skipper and husband Bryan of Maud, TX; along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends, each of whom will carry her memory in their hearts.

Beth will be remembered as a strong, kind-hearted woman who gave selflessly and loved deeply. Her generous spirit, warm smile, and unwavering love for those around her made a lasting impact on everyone she met. Though she has departed from this world, her light continues to shine in the lives she touched.

The family will greet friends at a Visitation on Friday, September 5, 2025, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, in the Chapel of Mallett Funeral Home.
