Betty Jean (Meeks) Clites was born December 27, 1943 in Wagoner, OK to Henry and Edith (Aldridge) Meeks. Betty grew up in Wagoner and attended Wagoner schools, graduating from Wagoner High School in 1962. She attended beauty school and later truck driving school. She worked as an over the road truck driver with her husband, Lawrence D. "Larry" Clites for several years.

Betty was a lifelong resident of Wagoner. She liked going to eat out and really enjoyed going to the casino. Betty dearly loved her dogs and lavished them with care and attention.

Betty departed this life Thursday morning, July 27, 2017 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at 73 years of age. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Larry Clites, in 2015; by both parents, Henry and Edith Meeks; two uncles, Ray Aldridge and Clifford Aldridge and an aunt, Melva Jean Hall.

She is survived by her uncle and aunt, Ellis and Doris Aldridge; her cousins, Brenda Hartwich, Vance Aldridge, Rodney Aldridge, Clifford Aldridge, Robert Aldridge, Keith Hall and Bruce Hall and all their families; her lifelong dear friend, Velma Cleland; other relatives and friends, especially her caregiver, Marie Vunetich, who has been so supportive and helpful these past years.

Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at Mallett Funeral Home and Crematory in Wagoner.

The Funeral Service will be graveside at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 31, 2017 at Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner, Oklahoma. The Reverend Willie Rice will officiate.
