Obituary

Funeral services for Betty Jo Lee, 77, known to many as the Donut Lady' were held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 12, at the Mallett Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner with her grandson, Nathan Slaughter officiating. Betty Joe Lee was born March 15, 1932 in Porum, OK to Opal and Lois (Wright) Webb. She grew up and attended school in the Porum and Warner, Oklahoma areas. Betty spent several seasons driving trucks for the wheat harvest. In 1964, she and her husband, Robert M. Lee moved to Wagoner and opened the Daylight Doughnut Shop, which they operated for many years. Many new Betty as the Donut Lady'. Betty enjoyed gardening and she cared greatly for animals, especially her two dogs, Bandit and Wendy. However, her greatest love was spending time with family' which included relatives and close friends. Betty passed away Friday, May 8 in St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; her son, Tommy M. Lee; an infant child; two brothers, Bill and Ed Webb and her granddaughter, Brandy Spencer. She is survived by her children, Deanna Eggers and her husband, Danny of Wagoner, Ray Bernhardt and his wife, Karri Lee of Arkansas City, Kansas and Linda Downs and her husband, Steve of Milton, Kansas; two sisters, Geneva Jones and Rachel Reed and two brothers, John and Ned Webb all of California; 10 grandchildren, Rick and Angela Kerr, Mike and John Hunt, Nate and Jeni Slaughter, Ben and Kim Downs, Joe and Talsie Downs, Robert and Ashley Downs, Chris Bernhardt, Sarah Bernhardt, Harrison Bernhardt and Jesse Bernhardt; 19 great-grandchildren, Ricky and Allison Kerr, Dakota Eggers, Wyatt Fulk, Jesse Hunt, Jonathan and Jamie Vanbeber, Jennie Hunt, Will Slaughter, Isabella Slaughter and Cade Slaughter; 2 great-great-grandchildren, Shelby Kerr and Morris Vanbeber; her extended family, the children, grandchildren and other members of the Woodard family who were special to her; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. Her grandsons and great-grandsons served as her pallbearers.
