Obituary

Betty Jo (Hagel) Patrick, age 94, of Wagoner, Oklahoma, peacefully passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at Porta Caeli House in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Born on June 4, 1929, in Oil Trough, Arkansas.  She was raised by Pop Hagel and her mother, Mary (Burgess) Hancock. Betty married Henry "H.C." Patrick on November 24, 1946.  They enjoyed a long and happy life together for 69 years.  They had been long time members of the Wagoner First Baptist Church, where they worked together providing church dinners.

Betty had been a dairy farmer, alongside her husband, H.C. First and foremost, Betty was a homemaker, she loved having a houseful of family and preparing large meals for them. Betty's life was filled with overflowing love and affection for her family.  Betty and H.C. devoted their lives to their grandkids. They loved going to watch them play sports or attending awards assemblies.  Wherever their grandkids were they too were there.

Betty leaves behind a legacy of love and unwavering devotion to family.  Her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.  She is preceded in death by her husband, H.C. Patrick; her parents; her brothers, Guy Hancock, Harlon Lee Hancock, Shelby Hancock, Ray Hancock; her sisters, Flossie Beard, Mabel Pigg, Bertha Pelley, and Violet Horton; and son-in-law, Ray Weese.

She is survived by her three children and spouses, Patricia and Ronnie Sunday, Debbie Weese, and Dennis and Sandy Patrick, all of Wagoner; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Dustin Weese of Coweta, Natalie and Phil Wilkinson of Coalgate, Ashley and Jeff Mullins of Wagoner, Emily and Shuana Roberson Patrick of Coweta, Amanda Watkins and Ed Hill of Broken Arrow, Erin Patrick of Broken Arrow, Robert Medearis of Wagoner, and James and Will Medearis of Tahlequah; seventeen great-grandchildren and her eighteenth due in October; many other relatives and friends.

Viewing will begin at 11:00 a.m. Monday and continue through the Visitation, ending at 7:00 p.m.

The family and friends will gather for Visitation, Monday, July 17, 2023, from 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Mallett Funeral Home in Wagoner, Oklahoma.

Her Service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at the Wagoner First Baptist Church.  The Reverend Mark Pointer will officiate.

Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner, Oklahoma. Serving as pallbearers will be her great grandsons, Tristan Weese, Lachlan Weese, Trey Wilkinson, Easton Wilkinson, Jaxon Mullins, Bryce Steel, and Colton Mullins.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to Porta Caeli House in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
