Betty Jo Ridenour was born May 17, 1935 in Fayetteville, Arkansas to Bill and Arlie (Leathem) Bond. She graduated from Tahlequah High School on May 27, 1954. She married Aaron Malichi Ridenour. They began their married life in Tulsa, OK. Together they managed a number of golf courses, including the golf course and airport in Tahlequah, OK. She was a talented golfer in her own right and won a number of tournaments.
In her earlier years Betty was employed at Kmart, Dixie Cup and Solo Cup. She was a longtime volunteer and two terms President at the Auxiliary at the Poteau Hospital. Betty enjoyed the practice of Tai chi. She was a member of the Tahlequah Eastern Star Lodge.
Betty departed this life Tuesday, April 7, 2020 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 84 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Ridenour; her parents, Bill and Arlie Bond; a daughter, Kathy Feagins; grandson, Coy Feagins; great-grandson, Ethan Allison; her son-in-law, Sterling Nichols; her two brothers and their wives, Robert and Frances Bond and Ray and Pat Bond.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Vickie Ridenour of Cameron, OK; a daughter, Brenda Nichols of Wagoner, OK; two grandchildren and their spouses, David and Heather Bailey and Brandy and Austin Branscum; great-grandchildren, Katie Ridenour, Marin Allison, Eth an Bailey, Shelby Bailey, Gabe Branscum, Wyatt Branscum and Peyton Bailey; other extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
