Obituary

Betty Lee (Walls) Smith was born September 30, 1948 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She married Michael Howard Smith on March 2, 1964. They made her home in Tulsa, Oklahoma where Betty was employed at OAI Electronics before her retirement.

Betty loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, liked to go fishing and attending horse races, and liked to go to the casinos.

She departed this life on Thursday, December 29, 2022 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 74 years. Preceding her in death were her husband, Michael Howard Smith, in 1973; her parents, Ruby (Vaughn) Walls and Herb Davis; brother, John Walls; sister, Bernice Bibb and sisters-in-law, Bernice Walls and Bobbie Davis.

Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Michelle Couch and her husband, Jeff of Alma, Arkansas and Sheila Smith of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two grandsons, Michael Bass and his wife, Paige and John bass and his wife, Bailey; a bonus granddaughter, McKenzie Ingold; great-grandchildren, Barron Bass, twins Abbi and Ollie Bass and a baby boy due in April; a brother, Herbert Davis of Hulbert, Oklahoma; many nieces, nephews and cousins; other extended family and friends.

The service celebrating Betty's life will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Hulbert, Oklahoma. The family will welcome friends from 12 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 4 at the church before the service.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Oklahoma Fallen Firefighter Memorial or Arkansas State Police Association .
