A graveside funeral service for Mrs. Beverly Jean Walton will be held at 1:30 pm Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Pioneer Cemetery in Wagoner, Oklahoma. Officiating will be Reverend Willie Rice.

Friends may call at Mallett Funeral Home and Crematory for viewing beginning Monday at 11:00 am. thru Wednesday morning.

Beverly Jean (Kirk) Walton was born October 15, 1932 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma to Claude and Emma Kirk. Following graduation from Broken Arrow High School she worked briefly for American Airlines. Her talent for playing the piano and organ was noticed by Ralph Blane Hunsecker, well known songwriter, who told her she could be a famous pianist, but Beverly, after consideration, decided she preferred a simple life as a housewife and mother. For many years she played piano and organ for the Presbyterian Church in Broken Arrow and taught piano lessons from her home.

In high school Beverly began dating the love of her life and future husband, William Walton, who preceded her in death in 2004. They were residents of Broken Arrow for many years before moving to Wagoner.

Beverly departed this life peacefully on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Wood Manor in Claremore, Oklahoma, at the age of 85 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Walton, her parents, a grandson, Kory Walton, and two sisters.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Diana Jean and Ralph Thomas; her son, Wesley K. Walton; two grandchildren, Angela "Angie" Dyan McCawley and her husband, Tim, and Kami LeaAnn Walton; three great-grandchildren, Konnor James McCawley, Shea Walton and Logan Thomas McCawley; other extended family and friends.
