Obituary

Billy Vernon Manard was born January 15, 1931 in Delaware, OK to Milbern Wesley and Tempa Pauline (Zinn) Manard. After graduating from Delaware High School, Billy served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed by Oklahoma Natural Gas Company as a heavy equipment operator for more than thirty years before retirement. Prior to that Billy worked as a driller in the oil fields. He was a member of the VFW Post 474 in Muskogee and the New Hope Baptist Church. Billy died Wednesday, January 16, 2013 in Tulsa, OK one day past his 82nd birthday. He is survived by his wife, Ann Manard of the homein Wagoner, OK; four children, Randy Manard and wife, Janet, of Poteau, OK, Ricky Manard of Wagoner, Kim Manard Henkelman of Muskogee and Debbie Manard Sickles and husband, Wayne, of Greenville, TX; three stepchildren, Clifford Take and wife, Barbara, of Tulsa, OK, Beverly Spriggs and husband, Gary, of Tahlequah, and Jerry Take of Tahlequah; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Mallett Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner. The Reverend Willie Rice will officiate. Pallbearers will be Casey Henkelman, Ryan Henkelman, Cody Royse, Coulter Manard, Clifford Take and Joseph Spriggs. Interment will be in Pioneer Cemetery in Wagoner
