Obituary

Funeral services for Blanche Jeanette Felts, 87, of Wagoner will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Wagoner, with the Reverend Mark Pointer officiating. Blanche Jeanette Felts was born January 21, 1923 in Malvern, Arkansas to Tom and Clara (Haltom) Beason. It was in Little Rock, AR that Blanche attended and graduated from Draughn's Business College, and there that she met and married her devoted husband of 54 years, Bob Felts. From Little Rock the couple moved to Tulsa, OK, and from there moved to St. Louis, MO for 15 years before retiring to Wagoner in 1979. Blanche was employed in the Accounting Dept. of Southwestern Bell, where she rose to Senior Audit Clerk, and after 32 years of service, retired. After moving to Wagoner, Blanche and Bob became members of the First Baptist Church. Her faith was very important to her, and Blanche grew very close to her church family. She felt blessed by God and has expressed how good and faithful God is. Blanche passed from this life on Friday, May 7, 2010 at Southcrest Hospital in Tulsa, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, and just last year by her husband, Robert James Felts. Blanche will be greatly missed by her many close friends in Wagoner and especially her church family. Other survivors include; a cousin, Melvin Beason of Arkansas and Bob's family, including his daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Curtis Pryor of Langley, Ok; two grandsons; and two nephews, including Paul Steven Nourse. Pallbearers for Mrs. Felts will be Tony Gilford, Frank Cooper, Buddy Thayer, David Whisnant, Edgar Jeffers, Gerald Smith and Joe Murdock. Honorary pallbearers will be David Redfern, Spuddy Wright, Steve Butler and the fellow members of Blanche's Sunday School Class. Interment will follow the funeral service in Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, OK.
