Obituary

Bradah Joan Littlefield, age 66, was born on March 11, 1959, to Billy Carl (Buddy) Yochum and Roberta Jo (Bertie Jo) Prichard Yochum.  She was the firstborn and their only daughter.  They both thought she hung the moon.

Bradah was born at the Hastings Hospital in Tahlequah.  She was raised in Porter and grew up as a Porter Peach and Porter Pirate.  She attended Porter School from 1st to 12th grade and graduated in 1977 from High School.

In school, she met the lumberyard boy, Frank and Jane Littlefield's son, Robert Franklin (Bob) Littlefield.  They dated all through High School and on September 15, 1978, at the age of 19, they were married at the First Baptist Church in Porter.  They were married for 39.5 years until cancer took Bob away in 2018.

At a very young age Bradah knew she wanted to be a nurse.  So after graduating high school she attended Bryon Institute and became a medical assistant and went to work for Dr. John T Keown in Tulsa.

After a couple of years, she knew she wanted more, so she applied to the RN program at Bacone College and graduated in 1985 with her Associate of Arts Degree in Nursing.  Her first job was in the ER at Muskogee Regional Medical Center.  She then moved to ICU and lastly to the Medical Unit.  Where she ended up being the Director of Nursing for 17 years.  Oh the wonderful people she met and the great friends she made at the old MRMC.  What a great place to work.  Bradah always said it was the best hospital ever, we always took care of our patients.  She decided she needed to go back to school so she went to Northeastern and graduated in 2006 with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.  Then the Hospital Board decided to sell the Hospital.  After 21 years, Bradah started looking for another job.  Muskogee Creek Nation was building a new clinic 10 miles from her house so she applied for the Nursing Supervisor position, and got it.  Over the many years she worked for them, she has done many different jobs within the Creek Nation system.  At one point she had worked at every clinic and hospital they operated.  She was even instrumental in helping save the Okemah Hospital when the state threatened to shut them down for noncompliance.

Bradah was very proud to be a nurse and loved Nursing in general.  She took offense to any bad public images concerning nursing.  One time there was a show on TV called Nightingales.  She thought it was a disgusting show portraying Nurses.  She wrote letters to the network, producers of the show, and even the President of the United States.  They took it off the air after 1 season.

Bradah was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bob Littlefield, her great father, Buddy Yochum, her wonderful mother, Bertie Jo.

Bradah was all about family.  She loved her children and grandchildren unconditionally.

She has left behind her son, Chad Robert Littlefield his wife, Christie; granddaughter, Grace; grandson, Joseph; her daughter, Whitney Ann Littlefield; and granddaughter, Scarlett; her brothers, Aaron Mark Yochum and Kerry Eugene Yochum; many cousins and wonderful friends.
