Bruce Jennings Gillin was born December 03, 1934 in Kiowa, OK to Roy Venson and Helen Frances (Brown) Gillin. He graduated from Porter High School and attended college before serving in the United States Army until 1959.

Bruce was a master mechanic with a natural gift that was put to good use during his career as a mechanical engineer with the NASA program. Because of this work, his family experienced life in many countries, and the children literally grew up all over the world. When his father's health was waning, Bruce returned to his family home in Porter to care for his dad and help run the farm operation. True to his gift for fixing things, Bruce always liked to have projects going that he could work on in his spare time. He also loved to fish, especially in the ponds on the farm.

Bruce departed this life at his home in Porter, OK Wednesday morning, January 3, 2018, at the age of 83 years and one month. He was preceded in death by both parents.

Survivors include four children, Bruce Randolph Gillin of Newman, Georgia, Karen Gillin of Porter, Oklahoma, Melisa Gillin of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Roy V. Gillin and his wife, Heather of Warner Robins, Georgia; a stepdaughter, Maria Rammage and her husband, Keith of Macon, Georgia; grandchildren; Jesse Gillin, Tristen Buller, Nicholas Buller, Daniel Ragsdale, Helena Gillin, Autumn Gillin, Cameron Espinosa Gillin and Breanna Lewis; his brothers and sisters; other extended family and his friends.

Family and friends may call for viewing on Sunday afternoon from 1:00-5:00 pm and Monday morning from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at Mallett Funeral Home.

The Funeral service will be at 1:00 pm Monday at the Chapel at Mallett Funeral Home and Crematory in Wagoner. The Reverend Dennis Piearcy will officiate.

Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Porter, OK. Military Honors will be provided by the Donaghe-Elliott Post 56 of the American Legion from Haskell, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers will be Randy Gillin, Roy Gillin, Jesse Gillin, Tristen Buller, Nicholas Buller, Cameron Espinosa-Gillin, Jeffrey Gillin, Kenny Gillin and Bill Strickland.
