Bud Burk, 87, passed peacefully on Monday, January 19, 2026, in Mazie, Oklahoma, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born in January of 1938, to Otto and Nellie in Wagoner, Oklahoma.
Bud was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Pat. They were united in marriage on October 4, 1958, and shared 52 wonderful years together until her passing. Their marriage was an enduring testament to love, patience, and faith, and a reflection of the life they built together side by side.
He was a quiet, steady force. Strong without needing recognition, caring without needing words. He showed love by being there, by providing, by doing what needed to be done. To his family, he was safety, consistency, and calm. To those who knew him, he was dependable and kind.
His faith was not just something he believed, but something he lived. He was a devoted member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Mazie, Oklahoma, finding strength, purpose, and community there throughout his life.
He devoted 40 years to his work at Aircraft Accessories, where he was respected, valued, and surrounded by many friends, leaving big shoes to fill when he retired (especially at the foosball table).
Bud loved fishing and made the most of every opportunity to go, often accompanied by his kids, grandkids, friends, and other family. He also found joy in the open road, taking trips near and far—sometimes for work, sometimes simply for the experience.
Above all else, Bud cherished his family, with a special love for his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. His presence brought warmth, laughter, and a sense of unconditional love to those around him. He leaves behind a family who will carry forward his lessons, his humor, and his quiet strength every day.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Nellie Burk; his wife, Pat Burk; his brothers, Jabo Burk, Leroy Burk, and Ronald Burk; his sisters, Virginia Favorite, Ruby Bebout, and Agatha Burk; An infant sibling, Baby Burk; Brother-in-law, Lewis Owen; Sister-in-laws, Josephine Coblentz, Katherine Parks, Ona Lee Richardson, Maxine Owen, Jeri Dillingham, and Cherry Dry; and a cherished infant granddaughter, Sarah Burk.
Those left to cherish his memory include his Sons and Daughter-in-Laws, Dennis Burk and wife Christine of Wagoner, OK, Mike Burk and wife Kathy of Fairland, OK; daughters and son-in-law, Janie Young and husband, Tim, of Catoosa, OK; Terri Parent of Mazie, OK; his grandchildren, Daniel Burk and wife, Maghan, of Chouteau, OK; Jonathan Burk and wife Whitney of Owasso, OK; Nina Parker and husband, Dustin of Bentonville, AR, Heather Knepp and husband Rodney of Fairland, OK, Caleb Burk of Grove, OK, Emily Kaup and husband, Kory, of Mazie, OK and Matthew Parent of Union City, IN; along with 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; Sister Frankie Manus of Porter, OK; Brothers Joe Burk and wife Frankie of Okay, Larry Burk and wife Mitzi of Porter, OK; Brother-in-Laws; Sister-in-Laws; and a very special friend Joan Gundy; and many more relatives.
Though he is no longer with us, Bud’s life was well-lived; his love and quick-witted humor freely given, his strength shared among anyone who needed it, and his quiet presence remains woven into the lives of his family and all who were blessed to know him.
