Charles "Byron" Essary was born December 14, 1960 in Muskogee to his parents, Charles and Evelyn (Hess) Essary. He grew up and graduated high school in Haskell, OK. Byron was a car salesman, working for Murry's Nissan in Muskogee for 17 years. He was a hands on' man and enjoyed life to the fullest and fastest, riding his Harley, four wheelers and driving his tractor. He loved being outdoors, traveling and camping, especially with his grandchildren. Byron passed away peacefully Thursday, July 5 at his home, surrounded by those he loved. Byron was preceded in death by his wife, Cammie Essary in Jan. 2003. He is survived by his parents, Charles and Evelyn Essary of Porter; his partner, Kathy Flusche of the home; her parents, Charles and Frances Johnson of Grove; his children, Jamey Vandiver, Lacey Yochum and her husband, Nick all of Muskogee; Madison Flusche of Tulsa and Miles Flusche of Edmond; two grandchildren, Miley Yochum and Gunner Vandiver; three brothers, Don Essary and Robbie of Bernice, OK, Roy Essary and Nana, Larry Essary and Sue all of Porter; two sisters, Charlotte Easley and Jim and Marilyn Stout and A.J, also of Porter; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. Viewing will be 12:00 to 5:00 Saturday and 1:00 to 5:00 Sunday. Pallbearers are David Hogan, Ronald Limon, Bud Edge, Tommy Taylor, Mike Childress, Ivan Bennett, Marty Gile and Larry Steele. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Fenton, Jimmy Littrell, Danny Littrell, Tommy Essary, Hershel McBride, Joe Landon, Leonard Jackson and Steve Webb. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Porter.
