Funeral services for Carl Junior Foster, 82, long-time Wagoner area resident, will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Wagoner with the Reverend Mark Pointer officiating. Carl Junior Foster was born January 17, 1931 in Coweta, Oklahoma to William Frank and Mabel (Stevens) Foster. He grew up in the Coweta area and graduated from Coweta High School. Carl joined the U.S. Navy on January 5, 1951 and proudly served four years, part of the time aboard the U.S.S. Carrier Oriskany. It was during his time in the service he was united in marriage to the former Ruth Letterman in 1953. After his service in the Navy they lived in the Broken Arrow area until 1968 when they moved their family to their home north of Wagoner. Most of Carl's employment was as an auto parts clerk, for many years at Ernie Miller Pontiac-GMC, as well as other dealerships. Carl also raised cattle and horses and spent much time with his sons, working with their 4-H and FFA livestock projects. He passed away peacefully, Thursday, May 23 at the Wagoner Care Center. Carl is survived by his wife, Ruth; their sons, Kyle R. Foster, Randy D. Foster and wife, Regina, David W. Foster and wife, Joaney, and Phillip V. Foster; grandchildren, Jeremy Foster and Melinda, Melissa Foster, Laura Foster Harris and Jake, Jordan Foster, Haleigh Foster, Chayden Foster and Colton Foster; great-grandchildren, Danyelle Foster, Jacen Foster and Jase Harris; Tara Standridge, and other step-great-grandchildren, who are all part his family; and a host of other relatives and friends. Carl was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Quentin Foster and Fray Foster and his son Alan Carl Foster. Funeral arrangements and interment in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta are being directed by Mallett Funeral Home of Wagoner.
