Carol Ann (Haynes) Rowe was born May 1, 1944 in Wagoner, OK to Myrtle Maxine (Hylton) and Max Ray Haynes. She married Douglas Wayne Rowe on June 24, 1963. They were blessed with four daughters, Robin, Shawn, Vickie and Sonya. She trained and worked as a hairdresser for a time and ran her own daycare, Nanny's Daycare.
Carol loved her role of mother and homemaker, and family was always the most important thing. She had faith and hope in many things and passed this life outlook to her family. Hers was the home where her daughter's friends loved to hang out and were always welcomed. They all called her Nanny. Anyone who needed a place to stay was welcome. Her love for her family stayed strong as time went by. She babysat every one of her grandchildren.
In her early years Carol loved to swing dance. She liked to crochet and was an avid reader. She loved electronic games and had all the versions of Nintendo. Her all-time favorite game was Zelda.
Carol was an excellent seamstress. Her daughters remember all the clothes she sewed for them, including every day, prom, wedding and even swimsuits.
Carol departed this life Tuesday, May 31, 2022 surrounded by her family at her home in Wagoner, OK at the age of 78 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Douglas Wayne Rowe; her parents Myrtle Maxine (Hylton) and Max Ray Haynes, son-in-law, Cody Eugene Hardcastle; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Robert Rowe, Jerry "Bud" Rowe, Roger Cramer, Charles and Jo-Ann Ivey, Brenda Rowe and Laura Carter.
Her loving family who survive her include four daughters, Robin Rinehart and husband, Dale of Fort Gibson, OK, Shawn Cannon and husband, Alan of Ponca City, OK, Vickie Rowe-Vantine and husband, Brent of Wagoner, OK and Sonya Hardcastle of the home; grandchildren, Erica Phillips and husband Jeremy, Rhiannon Vunetich and husband, Jacob, Lillian Hardcastle, Gwendolyn Hardcastle, Alyssa Cannon and Caitlin Cannon; one great-granddaughter, Evelynne Lampkins; step-grandchildren, Scott Jones, D.J. Rinehart, Jeremy Cannon and wife, Lacey and Greg Cannon and wife, Brandi; a brother, Larry Carter; sister, Linda McDaniel; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Coy and Gladys Rowe of Wagoner, OK, Linda Long of Muskogee, OK, Terry "Sally" Cramer of Alaska, Loretta Rowe of Hulbert, Patricia and John Magie of Arkansas and Gay Rowe of Arizona; extended family and friends.
The family wishes to thank hospice workers, Sheila and Rosie, for the amazing care they provided for Carol.
Viewing will be Sunday from 1-5 pm at Mallett Funeral Home in Wagoner. The Visitation will be from 3-5 pm Sunday.
A Celebration of Life will be Monday, June 6, 2022 at 2 pm in the Chapel at Mallett Funeral Home. Carol's nephew, Mr. Jim Ivey, will officiate.
The interment will be in Bennett Addition of Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner, where Carol will be laid to rest beside her husband, Doug. Serving as pallbearers will be Dale Rinehart, Alan Cannon, Brent Vantine, Jeremy Phillips, Jacob Vunetich and Scott Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Carol's six granddaughters.
