Obituary

Carolyn Jean Tackett was born October 30, 1943 in Muskogee, OK to Thelma Louise (Reynolds) and Lowell Worth Calvert. She graduated from Porter High School Class of 1961. She married Julian Dan Tackett, and they enjoyed a long and happy life together for fifty years. Carolyn was an active member of the Porter Church of Christ where her husband served as an elder, and she taught Sunday school. For twelve years Carolyn worked at the U.S. Post Office in Porter. She was a wonderful mom, wife and grandma. Her love of children was expressed when she provided day care for children in her home for many years. Her family fondly remembers her as a seeker of justice and a natural at coming to people's rescue. Her activities included mowing and fishing, but her favorite activity was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Carolyn departed this life on Saturday, April 21, 2012 in Broken Arrow, OK.
