Carrie Louise (Benton) Harris was born November 3, 1932, in Ray, Oklahoma. She went peacefully to be with her Lord, Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at the age of 88 years.
She is survived by three Sons: Donald Ray Harris of Broken Arrow, and wife, Patsy Gail; Albert Harris of Hulbert and wife, Gail; Frank Harris of Wagoner and wife, Tina; one Daughter: Jacki Harris Crawford of Broken Arrow, and husband, Paul; and One Daughter-In-Law: Bronwyn Harris of Kettle Falls, WA, wife of son, Douglas Harris (deceased).
Also left to cherish her memory are seven Grandchildren: Donecia Harris Acuff and husband, Clint; Monte Harris; Nathan Wahnee and wife, Kim; Lara Wahnee Nation, Valerie Harris Fjeseth and husband, Erik; Brian Harris and wife, Shannon; Matthew Green and wife, Tracey; fourteen Great-Grandchildren: Davin Acuff, Cason Acuff, Logan Wahnee, Alexa Wahnee, Madison Nation, Marissa Nation, McKenna Nation, Macie Nation, Alexandria Fjeseth Quinton, and husband, Jeremy; Katherine Fjeseth, Gabrielle Fjeseth, Mason Harris, Brantley Belle Green, Blakely Green, and one Great-Great-Granddaughter: Jemma Quinton; Two Brothers: Harold 'Pop' Benton and Walter Ray Benton, and two sisters, Hazel Keeton and Helen Ishmael.
Carrie was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Cleo; parents, Frank and Mattie Benton; Son, Douglas Owen Harris; and two brothers, Hubert 'Cliff' and Frank Benton.
Carrie Benton Harris, was born near and attended, Ray Schools located in the area now known as Sequoyah State Park and Ft. Gibson Lake. She married Cleo on March 5, 1949. Carrie and Cleo made their home within a few miles of their birthplace in Cherokee County, OK.
Carrie was a homemaker, quilter, and retired self-employed cake decorator. Her family remembers her for her meticulously maintained home, beautiful quilts, delicious meals, and even more delicious (and beautiful) cakes. She had a strong Christian faith and was a longtime member of Church of God-Wagoner. Carrie lived her life in a quiet, humble and caring way and was loved by all who knew her.
Viewing will be on Wednesday, June 30 from 10:00 - 7:00 at Mallett Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be at 1 PM Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Church of God-Wagoner. The Reverend Bruce Von Wald will officiate. Pallbearers will be Monte Harris, Brian Harris, Matt Green, Erik Fjeseth, Clint Acuff, Nathan Wahnee. Interment will immediately follow at Hulbert Community (I.O.O.F.) Cemetery in Hulbert, OK.
