Cecil Orrin Brown was born March 9, 1922 in Akron, Ohio to Hardain Roscoe and Agnes Beulah (Patterson) Brown. His education was completed with a degree from the University of Texas. Cecil was an U.S. Air Force pilot. He retired after 24 years of service and later was employed by Delta Airlines with a number of responsibilities, including the area of forecasting the future needs of the airline industry. He and his wife, Peggy, returned to Wagoner in 1980 to enjoy retirement. During that time they raised two of their grandchildren, Courtney Rowan and Kendall Beaver. With Cecil's passing on Tuesday, November 17, 2009, a true American Hero was lost. He leaves his loving wife of 66 years, Peggy Brown of the home; two daughters, Shari Farrar of Fort Smith, AR and Denise Brown of Wagoner; a son, Douglas Brown of Minnesota; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and his friends. He was predeceased by a son, Gary Brown; grandson, Brett Aldridge; an elder brother, Lloyd, elder sister, Fran; and two younger sisters, Indra and Rita
