July 2, 1941 – April 22, 2020
Cecil Leon Foster Sr. was born July 2, 1941 in Coweta, Oklahoma to Tina Mae (Bramlette) and Clifford Lee Foster. He graduated from Coweta High School in 1959 and attended college for a time. Cecil married the love of his life, Leona Vivian (Moss) Foster, on August 2, 1963. They shared a life together through more than fifty-six years of marriage. A very devoted husband, Cecil always told Leona, "I love you forever and a day."
Cecil was a lifelong Coweta resident. For more than thirty-six years he was the core room supervisor at Big Four Foundries Corp. in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Later he was employed as a full flight simulator mechanic at Flight Safety International in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
In his spare time he liked collecting coins and older items that were treasure to him. He also loved astronomy and sci-fi.
Cecil departed this life late Wednesday night, April 22, 2020 at his Coweta home. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Rhonda Lynne Javine; great-granddaughter, Stevie-Lynne Nicole Brown, great-grandson, William Tate Shanks and a brother, Johnny Foster.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Leona Vivian Foster of the home; three children and their spouses, Teana Roseanne and Michael Edward Brown of Coweta, Oklahoma, Cecil Leon Jr. and Angelia Denise Foster of Coweta, Oklahoma and Heather Amber and Jack Vincent Spurrier of Tulsa, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Megan Foster, Christopher Foster, Geoffrey Javine, Patrick Javine, Rylan Javine, Joshua Brown, Joseph Brown, Jacob Brown, MaKayla Foster, Bethany Foster, Olivia Foster, Lacey Harrell and Jackson Shanks; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Ashlyn, Keaton, Kayden, Daniel, P.J., Alex, Xzander, Gunner, Elijah, Conner, Bentley, Wiley-J, Reed and Waylon; two brothers, Don Lee Foster and Juddie Dean Foster; numerous nieces, nephews and his friends, who were to Cecil part of his family.
Friends and family may call for viewing and to watch the memorial slideshow on Saturday from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, Sunday 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm and Monday morning from 9:00 am to noon.
A private family service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, Oklahoma.
Adherence to CDC requirements of no more than ten gathering at one time will be required.
