Chadwick Zane Brown was born March 7, 1948 at home in Sickles in Caddo County, Oklahoma. He was one of six children born to Othel Otis and Laura Myrtle (White) Brown. Chad grew up and attended school in Hydro, Oklahoma. He served in Vietnam in the United States Army. After his honorable discharge from service Chad married Patsy Ann Thurman on June 6, 1970. They had made their home in eastern Oklahoma, settling in the Porter area 8 ½ years ago. Chad formerly owned the fishing dock and marina at Greenleaf State Park. He was a retired Veteran Claims Examiner for the Veterans Administration. Chadwick passed this life on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at his home at the age of 66. He was preceded in death by his parents, Othel and Laura Brown; one sister, Earlyne Young; and a brother, Gary Brown. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Patsy Brown of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Holly Brown; a daughter and son-in-law, Tamara and Matt Bryan; six grandchildren, Zana Bryan, Hannah Bryan, Trent Bryan, Abigail Bryan, Ethan Brown and Claire Brown; three sisters, Talva McDaugle, Joye Hamilton and Gayla Crim, many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. A Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday at Mallett Funeral Home in Wagoner. The Funeral Service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 9, 2014 at the Porter First Baptist Church, where Chad was a member, with the Reverend Dennis Piearcy officiating. Interment will be at noon in Ft. Gibson National Cemetery, Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be Everett Dean, Jack Cieloha, Jim Rhodes, Ed Dugan, Jim Shieldnight, and Kenneth Linzy.
