In Loving Memory of Mabel Charlene Brady

Mabel Charlene Brady, 91, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026, at the Beehive of Glenpool. Charlene was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Charlene was born to Charlie and Lucille Edwards in Wagoner, Oklahoma, on November 9, 1934 in a little 3 room house in the woods. Growing up, she and her brother shared the adventure of riding a horse together to their one room elementary schoolhouse. By the sixth grade, Charlene was involved in 4-H activities, discovering a love for sewing, canning, and even showing a shorthorn steer. After graduating from Wagoner High School in 1952, she attended Oklahoma A&M College in Stillwater for a year.

On May 5, 1956, she married the love of her life, Robert L. Brady. While living in Oklahoma City, they welcomed their two daughters, Beth and Karen, who brought them great joy. In 1970, the family moved to Sapulpa, Oklahoma, where Charlene served faithfully alongside her husband at First Baptist Church and Faith Baptist Church. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether she was crocheting, tending to her beautiful flower garden, or playing dominoes with her close friends.

Charlene will be remembered most for her steadfast faith and her gentle boldness in sharing the Gospel with others. Her faith in God was the guiding force of her life, anchoring her through every joyful and difficult season with kindness, compassion, and grace. Her family was her greatest earthly joy, and she took immense pride in the lives and accomplishments of her children, grandchildren, and extended family, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion that will endure for generations.

She is survived by her daughters, Beth and her husband, Paul, and Karen and her husband, Drew. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Jessica and her husband, Ricky; Megan and her husband, Colter; and Brady; as well as her great-grandchildren, Octavia and Calden. Additionally, Charlene is survived by her brother, J.W. Edwards; her sister, Patti Butler and her husband, Steve; and many beloved extended family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert.

While our hearts are heavy with her passing, we find comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with her Savior. We will cherish her memory always, carry with us the wisdom and lessons she so lovingly shared, and remain forever thankful for the blessing of calling her our mother and grandmother.

A Memorial Service honoring the life of Charlene Brady will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 2 pm in the Chapel of Mallett Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner, Oklahoma.
