Charlene was born to Charlie Sowers and Verba (Prock) Sowers on January 31, 1946, in Wagoner, Oklahoma.  She met the love of her life, Junior "Dickie" Scroggins and they married on April 8, 1977, in Jay, Oklahoma.  Together through their marriage they raised 6 children and successfully owned and operated several fruit stands and woodyards between Jay, Wagoner, and Hulbert, Oklahoma.

Charlene took pleasure in creating plastic canvas projects and engaging on Facebook, particularly to play her favorite games.  Above all, she loved spending time with her family, especially all her grandchildren.

Charlene departed this life on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at her home in Coweta, Oklahoma, at the age of 78 years.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Junior "Dickie" Scroggins; parents, Charlie Sowers and Verba Webb; son, Frank Rankins; grandson, Walter Lee Scroggins; 3 brothers; and 7 sisters.

Surviving Charlene and cherishing the many memories of her life include her children, James Scroggins of Springdale, AR, Willma Fortner of Bartlesville, OK, Lee Rankins and his wife, Misty of Wagoner, OK, Dickie Scroggins and his wife, Lora of Peggs, OK, and Deloris Scroggins of Checotah, OK; grandchildren, Jennifer Wells, Sadie Gordon, James Canavan-Scroggins, Tiffany Edwards, Christie (Rankins) Girkins, Dustin Rankins, Aaron Rankins, Mindy (Rankins) Chavez, Riane Rankins, Hannah Stone, Dalton White, Pamela Scroggins, Thomas Scroggins, Ryan Scroggins, Amber Laney, Bobbi Kay Burris, Tony Burris, Kaylee Halfhill, Devone Smith, Amanda Young, and Bobby Stone; many great- grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, all who will miss her greatly.

The family will greet friends and relatives at a Visitation on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, from 5-7 pm in the Chapel of Mallett Funeral Home and Crematory, Wagoner, Oklahoma.

A Celebration of Life honoring the Life of Charlene Scroggins will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Mallett Funeral Home and Crematory, Wagoner, Oklahoma.  Pastor, Micah Wisdom will officiate.

Interment will follow at Duffield Memorial Cemetery in Jay, Oklahoma.  Those serving as pallbearers are her grandchildren, James Canavan-Scroggins, Aaron Rankins, Mindy Chavez, Sadie Gordon, Jennifer Wells, and Dalton White.
