Obituary

Charles Edward Fielden or "Charlie" was born, on March 22, 1938 in Wagoner, OK, the eldest of 8 boys born to Bonnie Fielden and Naomi (Cobb) Fielden. On Monday morning, April 29, 2019, with his loving family gathered around, Charlie peacefully went on in the arms of Jesus. He was 81 years old.

Charlie grew up in a large family. Coming from a home that boasted 8 boys, there was mischief to be made. Although he was of a kind spirit, there was always a prank or joke to follow. Charlie loved to laugh or give a laugh, and he never met a stranger.

Charlie attended Wagoner elementary school and would later attend Hulbert High School. He would meet Ruth Parker, and on January 3, 1964 they married. Together, they made their home in Lost City and Hulbert, where they raised two sons, Mark Edward and Wayne. Charlie and Ruth shared 55 happy years of marriage.

A family oriented man, Charlie devoted his time to his wife, children and grandchildren. It was easily recognized that he was the patriarch of his family. Creating a bond with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren was typical of Charlie; he followed them to any and all activities they participated in. At basketball games you were sure to meet him. He was their biggest fan.

Charlie was an avid outdoorsman; he loved to hunt and fish and tell the tales.

He worked as a construction carpenter for Flintco for many years. Upon retirement, he settled with his wife Ruth and his adored family. A Baptist by faith, he was a member of the Hulbert First Baptist Church. He was baptized in August, 2014. What a glorious day that was.

Charlie had numerous friends, and he kept them and his family near and dear to his heart. His passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but we know he's healed and rejoicing in Heaven with his parents and brothers who have gone before him. Preceding him in death are his parents, Bonnie and Naomi Fielden, brothers, Howard, Steve, William, Dale and Doc Fielden and a nephew, Stevie Fielden.

His legacy will live on forever in the hearts of his wife, children and grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth; two sons, Mark Edward Fielden and wife, Katrina and Wayne Fielden, all of Hulbert, OK; grandchildren, Hope Fertig and husband, Matt, Mady Fielden all of Hulbert, OK, and Mason Fielden of Tahlequah, OK; two great-grandchildren, Hazen and Stockton Fertig; brothers and sisters-in-law, Don and Melba Fielden of Sand Springs, OK, and Gary and Karen Fielden of Claremore, OK; sisters–in-law, Ruth Fielden of Sapulpa, OK, Wanda Tannehill of Hulbert, OK, Donna Doris of Claremore, OK, Marta Fielden of Hulbert, OK and Pam Fielden of Hulbert, OK; several nieces and nephews; a host of extended family and friends.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, May 4, 2019 at the First Baptist Church, 126 East 5 th Street, Hulbert, OK. Officiating will be the Reverend Glen Rowan and the Reverend Bobby Botts.
