Obituary

Charlies Ronald Sunday, affectionately called Ronnie by all who knew him, was born March 19, 1947 in Tahlequah, OK to Charley Jackson Sunday and Zona Bell (Gardner) Sunday. He served in the United States Army while stationed in Germany from 1967-68. He married the former Patricia Lynn Patrick on March 13, 1976 at the First Baptist Church in Wagoner. Ronnie and Pat continued to reside in Wagoner and remained members of the First Baptist Church throughout their 47 years of marriage.

Ronnie was employed for 36 years as a code welder and supervisor at Dresser-Rand, a company that engineers and manufactures equipment used in the extraction of fossil fuels.

In his spare time Ronnie loved hunting and fishing. His favorite times were those spent with family and attending their activities. He was always someone the family could count on to help out in any way necessary.

Ronnie departed this life Thursday evening, January 25, 2024 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 76 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Zona and Charlie Sunday; brother, John Gilbert Hicks; sister, Rosa Lee Bynum; sister, Karen Sue Simmons; niece, Janice Hickman and husband, Jerry; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Betty and H.C. Patrick; brother-in-law, Ray Weese; and great-niece, Toby Patrick.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Patricia; niece, Adrian Jiminson; nephew, Michael Bynum and wife, Marcella; sister-in-law, Debbie Weese; brother-in-law, Dennis Patrick and wife, Sandy Patrick; nieces and nephews, Dustin Weese, Natalie Wilkinson and husband, Phillip, Ashley Mullins and husband, Jeff, Emily Patrick and Shuana Roberson Patrick, Amanda Watkins and Ed Hill, and Erin Patrick; a host of great nieces and great nephews; other extended family and friends.

His life will be celebrated at a Graveside Service at 1 pm Tuesday, January 30, 2024 in Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner. The Reverend Mark Pointer will officiate. Pallbearers will be Michael Bynum, Dustin Bynum, Dustin Weese, Trey Wilkinson, Easton Wilkinson, Tristan Weese, Lochlan Weese, Jackson Mullins, Bryce Steele and Colton Mullins. Funeral Military Rites will be presented by the U.S. Army Honors Team.

Viewing will be from 11 am until 3 pm Monday. Family and friends will gather for a Visitation from 5 - 7 pm, both at Mallett Funeral Home.
