Cherry Yvonne (Owen) Dry was born in Mazie, OK on April 18, 1951, an hour after her twin brother Gerry Owen, to Orval Lee and Ergie Jane (Roberts) Owen in Mazie, OK. She attended Wagoner High School where she was a part of the Glee Club and was able to exercise her God given talent of singing. She also was in Home Economics where she found her love for sewing.

In the spring of 1967 she met Walter Dry Jr., the love of her life. They were married June 23, 1967, four months before he left for Fort Polk, Louisiana, prior to serving his Army tour in Vietnam. When Walter returned home they moved to Lawton, OK, next Denver, Co, then Wagoner, OK, finally making their home in Mazie, OK where they have lived for close to fifty years.

Cherry's faith in God was the most important thing in her life. God was her strength and foundation, and she set a Godly example of wife, mother, sister and friend. She was a member of Unity Freewill Baptist Church in Mazie, and that is where you would find her and Walt every Sunday morning, Sunday night and Wednesday night. There were not many services that she was not either leading the song service or singing a special song, utilizing her talent.

Cherry worked for the City of Chouteau for over 20 years. She was active in the community and only wanted the very best for the Town of Chouteau. She cherished the men and women who she worked with and was always there to support them and encourage them however she could. There were times she would also give them her opinion or advice, even at times when it was unsolicited, but it was only because she wanted the best for them or the town.

Cherry loved her grandchildren whole heartedly. She made sure she attended every sporting event, program and band concert, even if she had to drive to Fayetteville, AR when Kyleigh attended the University of Arkansas. In her spare time, when she wasn't supporting the grandkids in something, she enjoyed sewing, quilting and cross-stitching.

She is survived by husband Walter Dry Jr. of the home; daughter Lauri Pell and husband, Jack Pell Jr. of Pryor, OK son Aaron Dry of Inola, OK; granddaughter Kyleigh Pell of Dallas, TX; granddaughter Raylee Pell of Pryor, OK; grandson CJ (Fred) Harris and wife Chrissy Harris of Pryor, OK; great-grandchildren Oakley and Hudson Harris.

She is also survived by siblings Katherine Parks of Arizona, Lonnie Owen of Wagoner, OK, Maxine Owen of Tulsa, OK, Jarrett Owen and wife Patsy of Wagoner, OK, Gerry Owen and wife Sharon of Mazie, OK and Tony Owen and wife Kathy of Wagoner, OK; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many other extended family and friends.

Cherry departed this life on Thursday, December 23, 2021 in Tulsa, OK at the age 70 years. She was preceded in death by her parents Orval and Ergie Owen; one brother Lewis Owen; four sisters, Josephine Coblentz, Ona Lee Richardson, Patricia Burk and Geraldine Dillingham and her father-in-law, Walter Dry Sr.
