The memorial service for Chester Wayne Vivion will be at 12:00 pm Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Skelly Drive Baptist Church, 8504 East Skelly Drive, Tulsa, OK 74129. Officiating will be Reverend Bob Fjeldsted.
Chester Wayne Vivion was born December 6, 1925 in Wagoner, OK to Lola Pear (DeMoss) and Foe Vivion. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and later in the Air National Guard during the Korean War.
He married the former Norma Wassom in Tahlequah, OK on November 7, 1947. They enjoyed a long life together for more than 71 years. Before retirement Chester was employed in sales for Kellogg's Cereal.
Chester was a long time member of Skelly Drive Baptist Church. He gave much of his time serving as a deacon and singing in the choir. He was dedicated to music and played bass fiddle in the Round Boys Band for 70 years plus.
Chester departed this life February 3, 2019 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 93 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Sharon Vivion Tweedy.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Vivion; two sons, Rick Vivion and his wife, Carol, and Jeff Vivion and his wife, Terri, all of Tulsa, OK; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; three sisters, Wanda Jennings of AR, Lynadell Snider of Fort Smith, AR and Avanell Patton of TX; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
