Christian (Chris) Whitekiller was born January 29, 1929 in Hulbert, OK to William Geet and Lena (Hadley) Whitekiller. He soon came to Wagoner to make his home, where he enjoyed a wonderful life with his wife of 68 years, LaVerne. Before retirement Chris owned and operated his own construction company. In his spare time he loved to go to Claremore to Will Rogers Down to watch the racehorses and enjoyed bowling and golfing as well. He and LaVerne always liked to socialize with friends, and they were always together. Chris departed this life on Friday, November 28, 2014 at his home in Wagoner. He was survived by his loving wife, LaVerne Whitekiller; three children, LaRetta Faye Bates of Van Buren, Arkansas, Larry Chris Whitekiller of Lompoc, California and Kathy Dale and her husband, Jerry, of Wagoner, OK; one sister, Betty Page and her husband, Jesse, of Wagoner; five grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and five great great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Chris was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Calvin, Bob and William "Sonny" Whitekiller; one sister, Opal King; and a half-brother, William Geet Whitekiller. Chris's devoted wife, LaVerne Whitekiller, followed him in death two days later, on November 30. 2014. A double funeral for Chris and LaVerne will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 4, 2014 at the Mallett Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner. Pastor Kelly Whitekiller will officiate, and interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner. Pallbearers will be James Pipkins, Jerry Don Dale, Jerremy Dale, Donald Herd, Brent Page and Matt Whitekiller. Honorary pallbearers will be Jesse Page and Dan Easterling.
