Claude Dell Teague was born October 19, 1946 in Hulbert, OK to Jackson Burl "J.B." Teague and Euna Faye (Simpson). He graduated from Hulbert High School where he played football and even received a scholarship to Connors State College.
Claude Dell was a lifelong Hulbert resident. He was employed as an ironworker, most recently working for S & S Communications.
As a youngster Claude Dell was taught a few chords on the guitar by his mother, and from there he developed a love for music that lasted his whole life. He never missed an opportunity to sing and also played the guitar and drum. His bands played all venues and spanned more than forty years of playing wherever they could; Claude Dell once opened for Marty Robbins when he played the Muskogee Civic Center. There was seldom a family gathering when Claude Dell didn't sing. He enjoyed singing for the Go Ye Village. He loved horseracing and gambling as well and ran horses for a time.
Claude Dell loved people. He never met a stranger, and loved being around his children and grandchildren. He always carried mints for the children. It could be said he was Claudie to most and Papa to many.
Claude Dell departed this life Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa, OK at the age of 72 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.B. Teague and Euna Faye Geurin; stepfathers, Pearl Weeden and Fred Geurin; a brother, Jerry Lee Teague and two grandsons, Cadence Wayne and Jeffrey.
Survivors include his wife, Parma Teague of the home; children, Rodney Dell Teague and Shannon; Tracy Renee Porter and husband, Jeff, all of Hulbert; Bobbie DeAnn Hakes and Terry of Peggs; Claudette Bailey and Christopher Neill Teague and wife, Shasta, all of Hulbert; a son-in-law, Brad June Johnson of Hulbert; grandchildren, Steven, Brittany, Larat, Kenlee, Brandon, Lakin, Laney, Emily, Wyatt, Madison and husband, Adam, Andrew, Carli, Mazie, Gage, Silas, Treann, Atley, Evan, Daisy and Sawyer; great-granddaughter Haidyn; a sister, Dana Teague of Tulsa; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
