Graveside funeral services for Clement B. Clem' Crossno, 89, of Hulbert will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 18 at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Hulbert, Oklahoma with Mr. Calvin Cole officiating. Clem was born March 23, 1922 in Stigler, Oklahoma to his parents, Archie Buford and Viola Catherine (Wilson) Crossno. In his early years he attended school and worked on the family farm near Hulbert before enlisting in the U.S. Navy. Clem served his country in the Pacific during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was stationed all along the west coast from San Diego to Alaska. On June 8, 1945 he was united in marriage to Gertrude Mae Goodwin, a union lasting 66 years. After his retirement from the Navy, Clem worked as a postman in Hulbert for several years. He was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed his hobby of model trains. Clem passed away Friday, October 14, 2011 at the Ft. Gibson Nursing Home. Clem was preceded in death by his parents and by his two brothers, Darrel Wayne and Billy Dale Crossno. He is survived by his wife, Gertrude Crossno of the home; a brother, James P. Crossno of Hulbert; a sister, Betty Joann Coward of Tahlequah; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. Funeral arrangements and interment with military rites by the U.S. Naval Honor Guard are directed by Mallett Funeral Home of Wagoner.
