CLEO MARY MLLER Funeral services for Cleo Mary Miller, 92 of Wagoner were held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 1, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Wagoner with the Reverend Carl Murphy and the Reverend Mark Pointer officiating. Cleo was born, November 14, 1918 in Beartown, West Virginia to her parents, Henry Martin and Grace (White) Wood. She graduated high school and received her teaching degree from West Virginia University in Morgantown. Cleo was also a veteran, serving in the Women's Army Corp during World War II. She began her teaching career, as her father did, in a one room school house in Beartown, West Virginia. Cleo later followed her husband, Jim Buster' Miller, by moving her family to California where she continued to teach until her retirement. In 1981 they moved to Wagoner to be close to their daughter and family. Cleo also taught Sunday school at the First Baptist Church in Wagoner and received numerous awards for her volunteer work in the community. She enjoyed gardening and feeding her birds but her greatest joy came from time spent with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other family. Cleo passed away peacefully, Sunday, August 28, 2011 at her home in Wagoner. Cleo was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim; four brothers and one sister. She is survived by her daughter, Grace Trester and her husband, Jake of Wagoner; her sons, Don Greenwood and his wife, Sandra of Colorado, Glen Gary Greenwood and his wife, Donna of Ridgefield, Washington, Richard Miller and his wife, Dianne of California, Raymond Miller of Las Vegas, Nevada and Jeff Wood and his wife, Jane of Beaver, West Virginia; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Kermit Wood and his wife, Ann of Beaver, West Virginia; a sister, Anna Lee Wood of Bellaire, Maryland; a brother-in-law, Thurman Miller of Mt. Hope, West Virginia; numerous nieces and nephews; her church family and many friends. Serving as pallbearers were Andrew Greenwood, Jared Greenwood, Gary Greenwood Jr., Wade Jones, Joe Trester and Chris Sutton. The Hope Sunday School Class of the First Baptist Church served as honorary pallbearers. Funeral arrangements and interment in Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner were directed by Mallett Funeral Home of Wagoner.
