Obituary

Coy Clyde Baker was born May 27, 1918 in Coweta, OK to Jasper Clyde and Ollie Mae (Due) Baker. On March 19, 1938, he married Anna Melissa (Chance) and they began a long and happy life together in the Wagoner area. He worked at the Powder Plant in Pryor during World War II. Coy was a self employed farmer/rancher, and for more than thirty years he sold Farmers Union Insurance. He and his wife, Anna, enjoyed travel, especially during their later years. Coy departed this life on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 in Wagoner, OK at the age of 92 years, 9 months and 17 days. He will be greatly missed by his loving family. Survivors include his wife of nearly 73 years, Anna Baker; his children and their spouses, Charles and Bonnie Baker, Linda and Rayburn Collins, Alvin and Linda Baker, all of Wagoner, and Kathy Baker and husband, Tommy Rose, of Van Buren, AR; ten grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday at Mallett Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at ten o'clock Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Mallett Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner. The Reverend Carl Murphy will officiate. Interment will be in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta. Pallbearers will be David Baker, Doug Baker, Mel Baker, Mike Collins, Aaron Farley and James Henson. Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Myer and Charles White. Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Disease Research.
