OBITUARY FOR DALA ANNE HARVEY
Dala Anne (Zachary) Harvey left this world peacefully at her home on March 23, 2026 surrounded by her family. Dala was born September 21, 1952 at Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico to her parents, Nancy (Grimes) and Dale Zachary, while he was stationed at Holloman. Dala graduated from Wagoner High School in 1970 and attended Draughon’s Business College in Tulsa. Dala married her childhood friend and lifelong love, John Harvey. They built a beautiful life together and were blessed with two daughters, Melissa and Jennifer. She spent her working years with DHS, Avis, Wagoner County Abstract and Thrifty, before retiring in 1997.
Above all else, Dala’s greatest passion was her family, whom she loved with her whole heart. She is survived by her husband of 53 years John Harvey, her loving daughters Melissa Gilliland and Jennifer Harvey-Anderson, sons-in-law Joe Gilliland and Adam Anderson, and her absolute pride and joy, grandchildren Elissa Harvey, Sheridan Shields and Ian Gilliland. She is also survived by her sister Kay (Zachary) Jennings and her husband James of Wagoner, nieces Tiffany Matthews, Nicole Stilwell, Haley McDaris and Nikki Kuehnert, and numerous cousins who were dear to her. Dala was preceded in death by her parents and sister Karen (Zachary) Mitchell.
Dala was a truly special woman with the sweetest and kindest of spirits. She was fiercely loyal to those she loved, and her gentle, caring soul touched everyone who had the privilege of meeting her. While her family takes comfort in knowing she is at peace and reunited with loved ones, they will miss their dear Nana each and every day. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at Mallett Funeral Home, 417 E. Cherokee St. in Wagoner, followed by a celebration of life lunch immediately following.
