Danny Eugene Boyd was born June 5, 1933 in Porter, OK to Alva Earnest and Edith Faye (Kinder) Boyd. Danny graduated from Porter High School. Although work as a motor pool manager for the U.S. Government G.S.A. Fleet Service took Danny and his family away from Porter for a time, his heart was always in Porter, where he was a member of the Church of Christ. He was self-employed in the automobile industry and enjoyed hunting, fishing and racing, but Danny's focus was first and foremost on his family. Danny departed this life late Thursday, August 14, 2014 at his Porter home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alva and Edith Boyd; a brother, Jack Boyd, and a sister, Myrna Buster. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Margaret Emily Boyd of the home; four children and their spouses, Michael and Gayle Boyd of Porter, Pat and Janelle Boyd of Porter, Bill and Sandy Boyd of Muskogee and Dana and Mike Grilley of Edmond; a sister, Lynda Armstrong and husband, Coy, of Porter; a sister-in-law, Jana Boyd of Muskogee; a brother-in-law, Leroy Buster of Porter; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Brandon and Lori Boyd, Chris and Katrina Boyd, Kelly and Andrew Theodore, Emily Eller, Nathan and Anne Boyd, Kasey and Jeff Marlow, Kristie and Nick Read, and Sean Grilley; sixteen great-grandchildren, Sydnee, Carlee and Hallee Boyd, Molly and Nate Boyd, Mason and Mitch Boyd, Karsyn and Jackson Eller, Alex, Andi, and Averie Theodore, Vincent and Victoria Marlow, and Ivy and Maddox Read; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Mallett Funeral Home in Wagoner. The Funeral Service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, August 18 at the Porter Church of Christ. Officiating will be Mike Roberts with Roy Essary and James Guess. Pallbearers will be Roy Cole, Joey Hatfield, Bruce Heller, Lyndell Jamison, Junior Lang, and Mike Withrow. Honorary pallbearers will be Leonard Brannon, Richard Hall, Alvin Linzy, Sherd Parker, Dennis Shook and Paul Shortsleeve. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Porter.
