Obituary

Danny Lowell Tackett was born January 2, 1962 in Wagoner, Oklahoma to Julian Dan Tackett and Carolyn Jean (Calvert) Tackett. His family moved from Okay, Oklahoma to Porter, Oklahoma when Danny was young. When he graduated from Porter High School in 1980 Danny was recruited by Connors to play baseball, but he decided to attend Northeastern State University where he studied history. Danny remained an avid baseball fan and enjoyed watching all sports, especially when OU played.

He retired from a twenty plus years career as a banquet and event manager at Western Hills Lodge in Sequoyah State Park.

Danny had fond memories of working with his grandfather, Lowell, to train quarter horses to race. He also raised short hair pointers and enjoyed quail hunting and fishing.

His nieces, Erin and Ali, grew up knowing how much their Uncle Danny loved them and was devoted to making memories they will always cherish. Danny was great at planning games and good prizes for family time fun. Danny was an avid stamp collector and liked puzzles. He had fond memories of bowling with his father, Dan and brother, Paul. His three favorite music artists were Neil Diamond, Kenny Rogers and The Eagles.

Danny departed this life to take his place in Heaven on Friday, October 14, 2022 at his home in Porter, Oklahoma at the age of 60 years. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Sherman and Lottie Tackett; maternal grandparents, Lowell and Thelma Calvert; parents, Julian Dan and Carolyn Jean Tackett; uncles and aunts, Louise Burchett, Bobby and Norma Tackett, Mickey and Mildred Tackett, Gerald and Cona Mae Tackett, Bill Tackett, J.C. and Wilma Tackett and Billy and June Lang and cousins, Scott Lang and Randy Tackett.

Danny's impact on his family will provide strength and comfort as they go forward. Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Paul Wayne and Daven Diane Tackett; nieces, Erin Julianne Tackett and Ali Raeann Tackett; aunts, Joyce Tackett and Martha Tackett; numerous cousins, other extended family and friends.
