The funeral service for Darlene May (Fast) Mager will be held at 2:00 pm  Friday, May 11, 2018 at Mallett Funeral Home Chapel, 417 East Cherokee Street, Wagoner, OK. The Reverend Bruce VonWald will officiate. Interment will follow in Pioneer Cemetery.

Family and friends may call at Mallett Funeral Home for viewing from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm Thursday.

Darlene was born February 1, 1937 in Butterfield, Minnesota, the only child of Cornelius Fast and Rose (Vogt) Fast. She grew up in Minnesota and went into nursing at an early age. She provided loving care to nursing home patients as well as to children all her life.

Darlene loved music, played the organ and piano and sang in the choir both while living in California and some at the Wagoner Church of God where she had been attending church.

She loved birds and flowers. She had a great ability to grow flowers as well as vegetables and fruit trees. She was particularly good at pruning.

Her family recalls fondly how she made the best cinnamon rolls and a great spaghetti pie.

Darlene departed this life Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reinhold "Dick" Mager, in 2008 and by both parents.

Survivors include five children and their spouses, Bruce and Linda Mager of Wagoner, Oklahoma, Bradley Mager of South Dakota, Barbara and Dale Turri of Hemet, California, Sandra and Jack Rogino of Muskogee, Oklahoma and Susan and Brian Brewer of VanBuren, Arkansas; by eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; other relatives, including a cousin, Bonnie Johnson, and sisters-in-law, Inez Booze and Delvonna Smith; and her friends.
