David Leonard Flowers was born November 3, 1960 in Longview, Texas. He grew up in Texas, graduated from high school, and made his home there until twenty years ago when he and his wife moved to Oklahoma. He lived in the Muskogee and Okay areas and had previously worked as a machine operator for the Tubular Company. David departed this life on Tuesday evening at Broadway Manor Nursing Home in Muskogee. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Cathey Gene Flowers, and by a son, Johnny Dean Thornburg, on July 12. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Ruby Thornburg of Muskogee; a daughter-in-law, Vina Thornburg of Okay; eight grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Christine Rainbolt and husband, Jeff, and Amanda Davis; other relatives and friends. A private inurnment will take place following cremation arrangements by Mallett Funeral Home in Wagoner.
