Graveside funeral services for David Clu Gaylor, 65, of Commerce, OK will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 13, 2014 in Pioneer Cemetery in Wagoner, OK with the Reverend Jerry T. Harper, Jr officiating. David was born January 6, 1949 in Muskogee, OK to his parents, Perry Clu and Gladys Virginia (Webster) Gaylor. He grew up in Wagoner, OK and graduated from Wagoner High School before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force. After serving his country, David began his long career with the U.S. Postal Service. He continued his education at area colleges, earning his Associates Degree in Business. David served as Post Master at several Tulsa area Post Offices and in Miami and Commerce until his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion and the Elk's Lodge No. 1320 David was an active outdoorsman. He enjoyed flying airplanes, playing golf, hunting and fishing trips to Canada. He passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014 in Miami at the age of 65. David was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Gary in 2007. He is survived by his children, Cheri Smith and husband, David of Miami, Brandi Gaylor also of Miami and Beau Gaylor of Commerce; two granddaughters, Dezirae and Shelby Maxson of Commerce; the mother of his children, Sandi Gaylor of the home; a sister, Debra Harper and husband, Jerry of Skiatook; numerous other relatives and friends.
