David Brian Geasland was born on June 15, 1956, to Bobby Dean Geasland and Ruby Jewel (Sweet) Geasland in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.  He attended and graduated from Tahlequah Public Schools.  David was employed as a machine operator with Cherokee County District 1 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.

David was a passionate outdoorsman and a dedicated family man who cherished his time in nature, engaging in hunting, fishing, and managing his turkey farm and cattle in Tahlequah. His love for outdoor activities was complemented by his culinary skills, particularly frying venison and turkey, and masterfully smoking and charcoaling meats. A devoted family man, David enjoyed quality time with his parents, children, grandchildren, and brother, and his adventurous spirit was evident in his travels, including trips to Canada and numerous visits to Table Rock Lake for fishing.

David departed this life on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, in Chouteau, Oklahoma.  Those preceding him in death are his maternal grandmother, Bertha (Granny) Sweet; his paternal grandmother, Sybel Geasland; his parents, Bobby and Ruby Geasland; and his brother, Doug Geasland.

Surviving David and cherishing the many memories of his life include his daughter and son-in-law, Denae and Samuel Tyree of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Dylan and Anna Scott of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; his nephews, Derek Geasland and Dustin Geasland; and a host of cousins, friends, and family who will greatly miss him.

David's family and friends will deeply miss him, cherishing the many fond memories of his life, and will continue to honor his legacy by keeping his spirit alive through the stories and love they shared.

A Memorial Service will be held to honor the life of David Geasland on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Exciting Southeast Baptist Church in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, at 1:00 pm.  John Geasland will officiate.
