David Lawrence Glaser passed away Saturday, August 20, 2016, at his home in Wagoner, Oklahoma. He was born March 12, 1929, to George and Susan Mae Glaser in Wray, Colorado. David graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder, with a degree in petroleum engineering in 1952. He then enlisted in the United States Navy, serving during the Korean Conflict aboard the U.S.S. Hubbard. He was honorably discharged as a lieutenant in 1954.
David pursued a career in the field of oil refining, working in many domestic and foreign locations, taking him from Wyoming to Oklahoma, California, Colorado, New Jersey, to Argentina, Spain, Algeria, and Saudi Arabia achieving increasing advancement in management and executive positions. He retired from Foster Wheeler in 1995; eventually settling in Wagoner where he was a member of and served as deacon and Sunday School teacher in the First Baptist Church. His favorite pursuits included ham radio and model trains. David had an abiding joy for farming and ranching – starting up a beef cattle herd, cultivating a pecan grove and a Christmas tree farm, and loved his time on his tractor.
David is survived by his loving wife Jean of the home; four children and their spouses: Jim and Jeanine Glaser of Tomah, Wisconsin; Debra and Tom Karman of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Mike and Lea Glaser of Marble Falls, Texas, and Rebecca of the home; three grandchildren: Emma Schlais and husband, Brian; Tompall Glaser and wife, Sarah; Seth Glaser and wife, Courtney; and, three great-grandchildren: Nathan, Rolen, and Payton. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Eleanor, George, Marcia, Robert, and Rowland.
Private services were held at the family home in Wagoner.
