Funeral services for David Wayne Maner Sr., 78, of Talahina, OK were held at 9:00 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 9 at the Mallett Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner with the Reverend Francis Berka officiating. David Wayne Maner was born Oct. 11, 1933 in Wild Horse, OK to Walter and Anna (Spears) Maner. He grew up and graduated from high school in that area before being united in marriage to Mary Carol Rhodes. They moved to Tulsa, then on to Skiatook when David began his 30 year career with Seismograph Services. He held different positions in the company, including Traffic Manager. He later worked as a parts salesman for John Deere and moved to East Texas. He loved being outdoors, on the lake and fishing. He and his son created an antique fishing display for a museum in Athens, TX from his collecting and garage sales purchases. In 1999 he and Mary retired to the Talihina area, where David passed away at his home, Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, at the age of 78 years, 9 months and 27 days. David was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Carol in Sept. 2010 and by his infant brother, Leon. He is survived by his sons, David Maner Jr. and his wife, Angela of Tulsa, OK, Dusty Maner and his wife, Lori and Gary Maner and his wife, Paula all of Athens, TX; eight grandchildren, Dustin, Brooke, Anna, Lindsey, Aaron, Alex, Mark and Jamie; five great-grandchildren, Kylie, Nathan, Olivia, Peyton and Noah; his siblings, Bob Maner of Collinsville, Linda Hamilton of Kansas, Sonny Maner of Tahlequah, Jimmy Maner, Evelyn Capps and Shirley Williams, all also of Kansas; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. Pallbearers for Mr. Maner were David Chambers, Jeff Chambers, Mark Chambers, Dustin Maner, Aaron Maner and Alex Maner.
