Deborah Gay Coundiff-Letts

February 18, 1950 — February 14, 2026

Wagoner

Deborah Letts was born to Jack E Coundiff and Jacqueline (Corbitt) Coundiff on February 18, 1950 in Edmond Oklahoma, and passed Valentine's Day, February 14, 2026 at Porta Caeli House in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Jackie Coundiff, who were familiar to Edmond residents from their business ventures and being active in the Edmond Church of the Nazarene. Also preceding her departure from this life were her Grandparents, Oda Mae Kennard and Ernest J Coundiff, and Fern Eva Cook and Claborn Lee Corbitt. Survivors are her husband of 39 years, Dana Letts, of Wagoner, Oklahoma, Nieces Leona Letts, Allison Martin, Rachel Martin, and Nephew Haskell Letts. Also surviving are a host of other relatives, classmates, friends, and clients from her life-calling of being a Massage Therapist for over 30 years, 22 of which were spent at The Spot Style Shop, where she became a staple of the Wagoner, OK community.

Deborah attended Edmond, Oklahoma schools from First Grade to Graduation from Edmond High School in the Class of 1968, where she was a friend to many of her schoolmates, as those who knew her would gladly attest.

Deborah was an avid reader, and loved music, movies and TV, and many of the other arts. She was also a collector since childhood of dolls, bears, and books.

A memorial for Deborah would be incomplete without speaking more of her family life. She was an only child to Jack and Jackie, and it was a family unit most folks realize only in their dreams. Jack served in the Navy as a barber during World War II, which continued to be his vocation when not interrupted by running a local drug store, or managing the "Coundiff's On Campus" sundries shop in the UCO Student Union. Jackie was involved with fashion her entire working career, which led to Deborah doing some modeling. Jackie opened "Jackie's House of Fashion" as part of that career.

Jack and Jackie donated their bodies to the University of Oklahoma Medical Center when their earthly days came to an end, prompting Deborah to follow in their tracks and do the same.

A memorial is to be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Mallett Funeral Home in Wagoner, Oklahoma.
