Dee Richmond was born April 9, 1950 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to William Frank and Juanita G. (Barron) Whiteley. She grew up in Wagoner, OK and attended Wagoner schools, later studying at Northeastern State University and earning an associate's degree. In 1967 Dee was honored to be named the Wagoner County Roundup Club Rodeo Queen. On June 29, 1967 she married Leon S. Richmond at the First Baptist Church in Wagoner, where they were members throughout their lives together. She was previously employed as a vocational counselor for the Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services. Dee's family was of uppermost importance in her life, and they will miss her greatly. Dee departed this life on January 12, 2014 in Muskogee, OK. She is survived by her husband, Leon Richmond of the home; her three children and their spouses, Kevin Leon Richmond and Allyson Blair of Wagoner, Kristie Deann Richmond-Hutchens and Billy Hutchens of Wagoner and Brian Keith "Britches" Richmond and Patti Warden of Hulbert, OK; grandchildren, Justin Richmond, Cody Richmond, Garrett Blair, McKenna Blair, Franklin Todd Richmond, Shelby Dee Hutchens, Bill Hutchens, Brennan Hutchens, Kyle Richmond, Nick Richmond, McKenzie Richmond, Cody Warden and Tiah Wilson; by one niece, Liane Morrison; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Juanita Whiteley, her sister, Cindy Milam and her brother, William Keith Whiteley. The funeral service will be at Mallett Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 16, 2014. The Reverend Glen Rowan will officiate. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Justin Richmond, Todd Richmond, Cody Richmond, Kyle Richmond, Nick Richmond and Cody Warden. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary and Cheryl Cooper, Teddy and Fran Ridenhour, Charlie and Carolyn Robertson, Buddy and Denise Sutherland, Larry Hall, Karen Hughes, Barbara Clinkenbeard, Debbi Zimmerman, Karen Youree and Mary Jane Whisnant. Interment will be in Pioneer Cemetery in Wagoner.
