Della Emaline Johnson, 86, a lifelong Wagoner area resident, died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010. She was born December 15, 1923 in Ray, Cherokee County, Oklahoma, one of eight children of Murray Frances and Molly (Weeden) Charboneau. She met and married her husband, Jess Johnson, and they made a life together until his death on February 14, 1968. Three of her children, L.D. Johnson, Frank (Bubba) Johnson and Clara Johnson Hefner; her parents; and six siblings, Walsie Buford, Leslie Charboneau, Frank Charboneau, Loyal Charboneau, Bill Charboneau and Catherine Thayer, also preceded her in death. Della's greatest joy was caring for her family. She loved to cook and sew, especially quilting. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn Sue and Doug Johnson of Wagoner; a sister, Beulah Johnson of Wagoner; eight grandchildren, Curtis Johnson of Tulsa, David Hefner of Wagoner, Rhonda Tidmore of Flower Mound, TX, Christopher Johnson of Tulsa, Jennifer Grandberry of LA, Melinda Lockhart of Geismer, LA, Mellisa Burrow of Fort Gibson, OK and Jessica Johnson of Wagoner; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends. A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 15, 2010 in Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner. The Reverend Terry Presley will officiate.
